๐Voting and Proposals
Voting and proposals are fundamental components of the Akarun DAO, empowering members to participate actively in the governance of the Akarun ecosystem. This chapter provides a detailed guide on how to create a proposal, participate in voting, and the essential aspects of the voting process.
Creating a Proposal
Eligibility: To create a proposal, a member must have at least 100.0 gAKA voting power or balance. This requirement ensures that proposals come from stakeholders with a significant interest in the DAOโs governance.
Steps to Create a Proposal:
Access the Dashboard: Navigate to the Akarun DAO dashboard on Aragon: Akarun DAO Dashboard.
Submit a Proposal: Click on the โSubmit Proposalโ button. You will be prompted to fill in the details of your proposal, including its purpose, description, and any relevant information.
Proposal Review: After submission, the proposal will be reviewed for compliance with DAO guidelines and then made available for voting.
Participating in a Vote
Eligibility: To participate in voting, you must hold gAKA tokens. Ensure you have wrapped your AKA tokens into gAKA through the Akarun DAO interface.
Steps to Vote:
Check for Open Votes: Visit the Akarun DAO dashboard: Akarun DAO Dashboard. Here, you can view all open votes and their details.
Review Proposals: Click on the proposal you are interested in. Review the proposal details to understand its implications and decide on your vote.
Cast Your Vote: Select your voting option (Yes, No, or Abstain) and confirm your vote. Remember that once you cast your vote, it cannot be changed.
Voting Process Details
Approval Threshold: For a proposal to pass, it must receive more than 50% approval from the participating voters.
Minimum Participation: At least 8% of the total gAKA supply (โฅ 20,800.08 gAKA) must participate in the vote for it to be valid.
Voting Duration: Each voting period lasts for a minimum of 1 day. This period allows sufficient time for all eligible voters to participate.
Early Execution: Proposals can be executed early if they meet the required conditions before the voting period ends. This feature ensures efficient implementation of widely supported proposals.
Vote Change: Once cast, votes cannot be changed. This rule ensures the integrity and finality of the voting process.
Reward Eligibility: To receive rewards, gAKA holders must actively participate in governance by voting at least once every 12 months. Inactivity results in blacklisting, which cancels future rewards.
Real-Time Monitoring
Transparency: The Akarun DAO operates on the Ethereum blockchain, allowing real-time monitoring of voting activities and proposal statuses. Members can track votes and view the distribution of gAKA token holders via Etherscan.
Conclusion
Voting and proposal creation are crucial mechanisms within the Akarun DAO, enabling members to shape the future of the Akarun ecosystem actively. By participating in these processes, gAKA holders ensure that the governance of Akarun remains decentralized, transparent, and aligned with the community's interests. The structured approach to voting, supported by Aragon OSx, facilitates efficient and secure governance, fostering a thriving, collaborative environment for all stakeholders.
